Tezos is a blockchain platform that focuses on self-amendment and on-chain governance. It enables the creation of decentralized applications (DApps) and the issuance of digital assets through smart contracts. What sets Tezos apart is its ability to evolve and upgrade through on-chain voting, allowing the community of token holders to decide on protocol upgrades and changes. Tezos uses a unique consensus algorithm called Liquid Proof of Stake (LPoS) to secure the network and reward token holders who participate in governance. Its native cryptocurrency is called Tez (XTZ). Tezos has gained attention for its emphasis on community-driven governance and flexibility within the Web3 ecosystem.
