Digital asset is a digital representation of an item of value, which can include cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, tokens, digital collectibles, or any other tradable or ownable digital entity. These assets are secured using blockchain technology and are often decentralized, meaning they exist on a blockchain network rather than a centralized database. Digital assets have gained prominence in Web3, serving various purposes, such as enabling decentralized finance (DeFi) transactions, powering non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and facilitating ownership of digital goods and assets in a secure and transparent manner.
