Satoshi Nakamoto is an anonymous person or a group of people who created the first blockchain and Bitcoin.

Bitcoin

According to Nakamoto, he started the work on the writing of the code for Bitcoin in 2007. The domain bitcoin.org was registered on 18 August 2008. The white paper on Bitcoin, titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System"[1] was published on 31 October in the cryptography mailing list at metzdowd.com describing a digital cryptocurrency. The smallest unit of bitcoin, the satoshi, valued at 0.00000001 BTC (one hundred millionth of a bitcoin), is named after Nakamoto[2].

Wallet addresses

The very fist block in Bitcoin, called the Genesis block, is owned by Satoshi Nakamoto and contains un-spendable 50 bitcoins. The wallet’s address is 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa and as of 2023-06-16 more than 4000 transfers have been made to the address and the current balance in the wallet is 72.63279664 BTC.

Identity

There have been number of claims and theories about the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.
