Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is a blockchain platform developed by Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges. It operates in parallel with Binance Chain, offering smart contract functionality. BSC is designed to provide a fast and low-cost alternative to the Ethereum network for developers to build decentralized applications (DApps) and issue tokens. It has gained popularity for its compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing developers to easily port Ethereum-based DApps to BSC. BSC's native cryptocurrency, Binance Coin (BNB), is used for transaction fees and various DeFi applications on the platform. Binance Smart Chain plays a significant role in the Web3 ecosystem, particularly in the DeFi and tokenization space.
